Irish trainer Willie Mullins is plotting yet another assault on the Emirates Melbourne Cup, hoping his form in the race can continue on an upward spiral in 2016.
Among Mullins’ prospective travellers this spring include Max Dynamite, who finished second behind Prince of Penzance last year.
Max Dynamite’s effort was the best of three Mullins runners in the race, after Holy Orders (17th in 2003) and Simenon (5th in 2013).
Max Dynamite’s form is inferior to his ’15 results prior to his Flemington run, and Mullins is yet to enter the horse for the same race he dominated last year – the Lonsdale Cup at York, running this Friday (local time).
As an alternative, Max Dynamite could run in Sunday’s Irish St Leger Trial over 2800m, being among the 34 entered. Read more…
