Precedence Headlines Cummings’ Five Melbourne Cup Entries

1 September, 2015

James Cummings has entered five horses in his name for the Melbourne Cup his late grandfather and training partner Bart won a record 12 times.

Precedence, aiming for his fifth start in the famous two-mile race at Flemington on November 3, headlines the Cummings five.

A total of 140 horses were entered for Australia’s most famous race when entries closed on Tuesday including last year’s trifecta of Protectionist, Red Cadeaux and Who Shot Thebarman.

Bart Cummings died at his home in the early hours of Sunday morning and will be honoured next week with a state funeral in Sydney.
